ABOUT THE ART

Formal Analysis

A pale animal like body bends downward within a dark brown ground. Rough earthy passages, white splashes, and scraped textures make the surface feel abraded and physically burdened. The lowered head or neck gives the form a tired, weighted posture. The painting avoids a clean image of vitality. Its life is uneven, dirty, and pressured, held between fragile flesh colored passages and a dense field that seems to bear down on the body.

Giao Analysis

Giao's humanism is not limited to graceful images of connection. This work makes life visible through fatigue, exposure, and endurance. The animal like form remains difficult to classify, which keeps the viewer from separating human vulnerability from broader conditions of bodily existence. Its bowed posture asks for empathy without sentimentality. The painting suggests that relation begins by recognizing fragility as shared. From there, Giao becomes a practice of attention to what is worn down, overlooked, or still trying to remain present.

Nguyen Cong Hoai

Nguyen Cong Hoai

nguyen con hoai artist qart gallery profile pic

Nguyễn Công Hoài is a Vietnamese contemporary artist based in Biên Hòa, Đồng Nai. Working primarily in oil on canvas and acrylic on paper, he has pursued painting professionally since 2013 after leaving formal design studies to develop his practice independently. His work centers on portraiture, family, and the human condition, often exploring loneliness, suffering, memory, motherhood, and the quiet emotional weight carried by ordinary people. Through dense surfaces, expressive figures, and psychologically charged faces, Hoài transforms intimate observation into a wider meditation on human fragility, endurance, and spiritual searching.

For artists who think in decades, not feeds.

Giao is building something slow and deliberate - a space where your work lives alongside Classics and Contemporaries, the art that shaped it and the artists it will shape in turn. If you make work that asks questions, we'd like to know you.
